Players lead rival 17th-century Highland clans, expanding territory and accumulating wealth through resource management and tile placement. On each turn, players draft territory tiles from a rondel; the choice of tile affects immediate actions, options available from adjacent tiles, and the timing and frequency of future turns. Gameplay revolves around developing pastures, growing grain for whisky production, selling goods at markets, and investing in special locations such as lochs and castles. Strategic timing of moves and efficient use of resources determine a clan’s prosperity rather than simply taking many turns.
