Big Bad Overlord

A card-and-dice game for 3–6 players in which evil Dukes gather minions and compete to take over the world. Players build armies from face-up cards, attack opponents using Mind Control, Magic, and Melee, and defend against do-gooders such as adventuring bands and small children. Combat is resolved with two six-sided dice, modified by the armies’ strengths in each category. Players can capture enemy cards, destroy vulnerable troops, form temporary alliances, and betray one another. Two magical artifacts are hidden in the deck; when the deck runs out, only players holding an artifact survive, leading to a final battle if two Dukes remain. A game takes about an hour to play.
