This supplement provides advice and tools for designing dynamic terrain in fantasy roleplaying encounters. It explains how terrain can affect battles, how to create terrain effects and powers, and how environments can change during an encounter. It includes 48 sample terrains, such as blood mage’s circles, solid clouds, and lightning pillars. Each entry offers guidance for using the terrain, with most including mechanical and cosmetic variations.
