HERO System (5th Edition)

A generic role-playing system for campaigns ranging from superheroes and pulp adventure to fantasy, science fiction, magic, psionics, and high technology. Characters are built without random generation by spending points on Characteristics, Skills, Talents, and Powers, with additional points available from Disadvantages. Powers are defined by their effects and customized with modifiers that adjust how they function and their cost. Tasks are resolved with three six-sided dice, while damage and other Power effects use dice based on their level. Experience is awarded as character points that can be spent directly on further improvements.
