Copper Country

In 1840, mining companies compete to extract copper from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula during America’s first mining boom. Players hire miners and assign them to mine sites, then reveal production cards and manage capital, risk, and miner productivity to produce copper. Company houses improve miner loyalty and safety, while shaft houses and hoist houses expand production. Copper extraction creates poor rock that reduces nearby shifts and advances the region through new businesses, historical events, and production eras. The game ends when the mineral supply is depleted, and the company that produces the most copper wins.
