SPQR (Deluxe Edition)

A reworking of a classic tactical wargame covering major battles of the Roman Republic and its opponents from 280–109 BC. Players command Roman and enemy formations on large hex maps, maneuvering units, resolving combat with a d10, and managing strength points that represent roughly 100–150 infantry or 100 cavalry each. The boxed deluxe edition includes multiple full-color maps and counters and offers 14 scenarios drawn from the original game and later modules. Turns represent about 20 minutes of battle and the map scale is 70 yards per hex; the game supports solitaire play or 2–4 players.
