The Networks: Primetime

Players run competing television networks and draft Shows, Stars, and Ads to build a programming lineup. Shows require Stars and Ads to score viewers and income; Stars provide bonus viewers but often have placement requirements (genre, solo spotlight, specific slot), while Ads boost income when matched to appropriate time slots. Gameplay revolves around drafting, assigning cards to time slots, managing limited resources, canceling aging shows into reruns, and using Network cards that grant special abilities. The game plays over fixed seasons, with viewers earned from current shows, reruns, and set-collection genre bonuses; the highest total viewers at the end wins.

Nice Draft Game with funny TV parodies

This is a somewhat amusingly themed but mechanically dry tableau builder. You are competing with other players for viewers (meaning points) by drafting cards from the center of the table and adding them to one of three slots on your board. When you draft a show card you can also add other cards you've drafted previously that are legal to attach based on the icons below the card. Some degree of flip luck in involved in terms of which types of shows are available each round, which can hurt at times because the game encourages a set collection strategy. Aside from some of the cards from the kickstarter extras being very poorly worded, the game was perfectly fine and enjoyable to play, but there's nothing that makes this game really stand out. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :nostar: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :nostar: Low or mitigatable luck elements :nostar::nostar::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment

Great theme, turns go by very quick. I've only played this 2 player. Would like to play with more to see how the grabbing/drafting would play out.
