Tidal Blades: Heroes of the Reef

I giocatori assumono il ruolo di giovani eroi che competono in un torneo di cinque giorni per unirsi alle guardie d’élite del regno insulare. A ogni turno, un eroe si sposta tra le varie località, compie azioni per raccogliere risorse o bonus, si iscrive alle Sfide nell’arena e pianifica i propri arrivi per massimizzare i turni. Nelle Arene, i giocatori affrontano Sfide legate alle località, mentre la Piega presenta mostri da combattere. Completare le Sfide e affrontare i mostri fa aumentare quattro caratteristiche—Concentrazione, Spirito, Resilienza e Sinergia—e influenza la posizione nella Plancia dei Campioni. Dopo cinque round, i concorrenti ricevono punti in base alle Sfide completate, ai livelli delle caratteristiche, alla posizione nella Plancia dei Campioni e ai mostri sconfitti, per determinare il vincitore.

Dice rolling game with a mild worker placement aspect involved. PROS - Very nice solitaire puzzle, with just the right amount of randomness keeping it interesting. - Good thematical implementation. The theme makes sense and you can relate to it through the mechanics. - Amazing, gorgeous, fantastic art and production overall. CONS - Waiting for your turn is not fun and turns are longer than they should be, so the more people playing the less fun each player has. - It feels cluttered, the design has too many elements for how simple the game actually is underneath them. - The deluxe box has a stupid size and proportions.

There's a lot of pieces and complexity for the amount of game. But it was enjoyable. The theme worked really well.
