Players take on the role of archaeologists mapping a newly discovered mountain city by deducing the exact locations of its buildings. Each turn, players manipulate an Archeoscope device to read coded cards and gain information, then use that information to place buildings on a personal city plan. Questions posed to the Archeoscope cost varying amounts of time, so players balance rapid information gathering against deeper, slower inquiries. The game is competitive and resolves when a player correctly reconstructs the city layout.
