It's ? deciduous versus? evergreen in this fight for the forest! In this 2 player area-control game you'll be taking turns to roll the dice and draft your aspens or pines wherever the ?️ wind die allows. You can expand your territory or add more trees to spaces you already control because you'll only be able to gain more trees for clusters that are equal to or more than your ☀️ sun die roll. Of course, the faster you can gain trees the faster you can take over the forest. Additionally, blocking off areas from your opponent allows you to gain the whole area. The player who controls the most spaces in the forest at the end of the game wins. This may not seem like much but damn is it enjoyable. I'm not generally a fan of area control games but this is somehow cozy, chill and just my speed. Not only that, but check out that artwork! The rulebook is short and straightforward. The component quality is great. The double-sided board fits so snuggly together that you can't see the seams, but can be very helpful when playing with expansions. Majestic Marvels adds a bit more strategy where you're trying to control certain areas of the board to gain end game points. Deciduous Duos allows you to expand the game to 4 players. I'd love to add Ancient Artifacts (collecting artifacts in the forest) and Wild Weather (adding weather tiles on the board for new abilities) expansions to add more umph to the game when we're feeling it.
