プレイヤーは、1897年のブリュッセル万国博覧会の時代に、アール・ヌーヴォー建築を建て、芸術作品を制作・販売し、街の有力者たちに取り入ることで、名声を競います。 ゲームは全4ラウンドで進行します。建築家カードを使ってアクションを実行し、アール・ヌーヴォーエリアでは建築家の価値を支払ってアクションカードを入れ替えたり、ブリュッセルエリアでは複数の建築家を使って無料アクションを実行したりします。ただし、そのうち1人が投獄されるリスクがあります。アクションによって得点を獲得し、複数のトラックを進め、カード配置の最多派閥に応じたラウンド終了時ボーナスを得られます。 4ラウンドと最終得点計算を終えた後、合計得点が最も高いプレイヤーの勝利です。

Evan5.0 Players bid for columns of bonuses by placing workers into the space to claim the effect. The last player to put into a column, if they have the money, can essentially always claim or tie for the end of the round bonus, which puts a big emphasis on turn order more than any positive decisions you try to make. The process of play is interesting enough, and I would have been more able to relate a positive if uninspired play experience if the final round endgame criteria weren't so absolutely critical to success, and were again completely subject to the final round turn order as the endgame scoring cards are claimed in the same way the abilities are. It can be doubally rough if the cards you need didn't happen to flip in the final round.
