シティーズ

Players are urban planners tasked by a city council to redevelop a neighborhood by the waterfront, placing housing, offices, parks, and leisure areas. Play proceeds over eight rounds (four in two-player games) using worker-action and resource-draft mechanics to collect scoring cards, city tiles, feature tiles, and building pieces each round. City tiles provide park, water, and colored building spaces; building pieces stack on matching colors to create 1–4 story buildings. Achievements are claimed during play by placing discs on the achievement board, and final scoring sums points from scoring cards and achievements.

Can I place a city tile diagonally next to my neighborhood, or does it have to touch edge-to-edge?

City tiles must be placed fully adjacent to an existing tile and may be rotated in any orientation; adjacency for achievements and areas is orthogonal (not diagonal). (p.3; p.4)

How many workers do I have to place in each row each round?

In 3–4 player games you may place only 1 worker per row each round; in 2‑player games you must place 2 workers per row over the course of the round. (p.3)

If an item is face‑down on the board, can I look at it before I choose it?

No — when you choose a face‑down item it is turned face‑up and taken, and players may not look at face‑down items until they are chosen. (p.3)

What happens if I can’t legally place a feature tile or a building piece I took?

If you cannot legally place a feature tile or a building piece (or choose not to), that tile or piece is removed from the game. (p.3)

Do scoring cards score once or for every occurrence of something in my neighborhood?

Each scoring card scores for every occurrence of the shown requirement in your neighborhood, and the same configuration may be scored by multiple scoring cards. (p.4)

How do water/park areas and monument tiles score at the end of the game?

For each orthogonally connected water (and separately park) area you score 1/3/6/10 points for 1/2/3/4 different feature tiles in that area (each area scores only one set), and each monument feature tile shown with a “2” is worth 2 Victory points. (p.4)
