Investigate an arctic tundra as a member of the Fifth Fleet and protect a new basecamp from massive, mobile monsters driven by a mysterious migration. Players select hunters with distinct weapons and playstyles, track chosen monsters through quest decisions, then resolve single-session arena combats using card-driven mechanics. Combat emphasizes teamwork, positioning, stamina management, and targeting specific monster parts to collect loot. Loot is used to craft new equipment between hunts, enabling progression across linked campaigns or standalone encounters. The game supports cooperative play and solo mode, and introduces frozen-terrain hazards, a Clutch Claw mechanic, and enhanced tracking information.
