The Mission: Early Christianity from the Crucifixion to the Crusades

A solitaire grand-strategy game that simulates 1,200 years of Christian expansion across the ancient Mediterranean, Near East, Europe and North Africa. Players send missionaries, appoint apostles and theologians, and build institutions to convert provinces, educate populations, and provide services such as healing. Secular powers, heresies, schisms, migrating peoples, and emerging Islamic states act as dynamic pressures that shape strategy; some groups may be converted, others become military threats. Turns represent decades and emphasize managing scarce resources (troops, relics, influence) while balancing evangelism with defense. Late-period mechanics shift play toward armed recovery through crusading and reconquest.
