The Spanish Civil War 1936-1939

Brigade-division level simulation of the 1936–1939 conflict in Spain, played on a single 22" x 17" map with two half-inch counter sheets representing Nationalist, Republican and foreign units. Play proceeds on monthly turns with a Mutual Administrative Phase for events, replacements and reinforcements, followed by Nationalist and Republican movement/combat segments and a Victory/Attrition Phase; supply is checked at the end of each turn. Units include mixed columns that can flip from irregular militia/column steps to regular army steps via a conversion/militarization mechanic, plus colonial two-step formations that are withdrawn and replaced as the war conventionalizes. Corps and army headquarters provide higher-level command for each side.
