AFFLICTION: Salem 1692

Players take roles in the 1692 Salem witch-hunt, using influence to shelter allies, accuse rivals, or arrange arrests as private motives—power, revenge, property, or righteousness—play out beneath the public hysteria. On each turn players place messenger workers to select actions on the main board, then resolve those actions in order: generate influence and use colonist abilities, accuse to lower reputations, arrest by spending influence, protect colonists with gubernatorial letters, manipulate fear, or remove accusations. Spectral evidence and special tokens alter a colonist’s ability to act. The game ends when specific historic figures enter play. Scoring awards points for arrested or recruited colonists’ reputations and property, remaining influence, and family-specific objectives tied to player tiles.
