Investigators race toward a climactic scenario as reality unravels around Dunwich. The scenario sends players through distorted woods and impossible phenomena — blood-strewn clearings, frozen rivers in warm weather, and dimensional rifts that expose otherworldly chasms — while advancing the cycle’s central investigation. Gameplay mixes scenario-driven challenges with deckbuilding updates: players confront the scenario’s altered environment and encounters, and may add new player cards (two copies each of fourteen designs) to their decks if they have sufficient experience points to prepare for the alien threats.
