The Siege of Alesia: Gaul, 52 B.C.

A historical simulation of the 52 B.C. campaign where Roman legions invest a Gallic force that in turn faces relief attempts. Players command opposing forces on a hex-and-counter map, maneuvering infantry, cavalry and siege works while managing supply, entrenchments and the constraints of siege operations. Play proceeds without fixed turns: control alternates between sides and can be interrupted by commanders’ abilities, reflecting the ebb and flow of operations. Three scenarios offer varied force dispositions and objectives, and the rules adapt the series’ core mechanics to model prolonged siege actions rather than a single set-piece battle.
