Coloretto

Players draft colored animal cards by either drawing a card to place face-up in one of several rows or taking a whole row into their tableau. Rows fill to a limited size so players are eventually forced to claim them, and play cycles until the deck runs low. Collected colors score using triangular values: the first card in a color is worth 1 point, the second 2, etc., but only three chosen colors score positively; all other colors subtract points. Special cards act as wilds or guaranteed points to help salvage a set. A two-player variant and several optional card expansions change row limits and card effects.

Super underrated game that plays well at any player count (I've played it as much at 2 than 4 or 5 players). Highly portable and recommended, decisions are few but very relevant.

Regelvragen

Beantwoord vanuit het spelregelboek door de regelassistent van Ludoya.

Can I place more than three cards next to a row?

No — players may place at most 3 cards next to a row; once a row has 3 cards no more may be placed there (page 1).

Can I take a row that has no cards next to it?

No — a player may only take a row card if it has at least one card next to it (page 2).

When do I decide which color a joker counts as?

You set jokers aside when taken and each player decides which color their jokers represent only at the end of the game (page 2).

How many colors can I score as positive at the end?

Each player chooses three of their colors to score as plus points; all other colors score as minus points (page 2).

How do the “+2” cards score — do they count as a color?

Each "+2" card scores +2 points on its own; it is not a color card and is scored separately (page 2).

If I take a card row, can I still take another row that round, and who starts the next round?

After taking a card row you take no more turns in that round, and the next round begins with the player who took the last card row in the previous round (page 2).
