Deck Box Dungeons

Een compacte fantasy-dungeon crawler die in een deckbox past en een begeleidende app gebruikt om missies te spelen en kamers te onthullen. Spelers stellen hun avonturiers samen door een personagekaart, een uitrustingskaart en een vaardigheidskaart te kiezen. Zo ontstaan flexibele combinaties, van schurken met dolken tot magiërs met een grootzwaard. Je speelt coöperatief: spelers verkennen door de app aangestuurde ontmoetingen, vechten met monsters met behulp van dobbelstenen en kaarten, beheren voorwerpen en runen en werken samen om allerlei missiedoelen te voltooien. De app regelt de opzet, genereert ontmoetingen en begeleidt het verloop van missies, zodat je snel kunt beginnen en het spel vaak opnieuw kunt spelen. Als alternatief zijn er print-en-speelmissies beschikbaar. Het spel is vooral ontworpen voor één tot twee spelers, maar met extra exemplaren kun je met meer spelers spelen.

Who needs a giant box with hundreds of minis that will never get played when instead you can play the same kind of game anywhere at anytime? This is a gem of a dungeon crawl! Quick to set up, quick to play, and fun. Brings back memories of classic dungeon crawl games like Heroquest. While, it is not the most complex game (that is a plus for me), it is more than a mere dice chucker as there are choices to make on when to use items and when to acquire them. The free app also adds much to the experience with randomization of rooms and story text. For those who are wary of app integration there are print-and-play versions of the official missions too. Wish the rules were more clear but revisions and clarifications are happening all the time. In the ratio of size/set-up time to gameplay this more than makes the cut in my book. Can't wait for more content to add to the adventure,
