In 16th- and 17th-century Fai-fo, a major Southeast Asian port, merchants compete to secure three contracts from the King of Dai Viet. Players use merchant cards, merchant ships, and coins to build their businesses while judging the choices of their rivals. Each round, players simultaneously play one card from their hands. The highest Reputation Merchant earns money, while the lowest-ranked merchant activates its special Skill. Merchant Ships have Reputation 0 and can bring substantial rewards, but too many ships may leave no money for anyone. The player with the most coins each round gains a contract; the first to win three contracts wins the game.
