Marvel Champions: The Card Game

What a superb game. It took some time for me to get into it (7 years later xD), but it has quickly become one of my favourite boss battler cooperative card games, in the same category of greatness as Aeon's End. The thing that really stands out to me in this game is the thematic integration of its characters. Each hero has a different feel and somewhat reflects more or less successfully its theme. There's a lot of variety in the super hero designs, and the fact that you can switch which Aspect to play with them freshens up things. I don't think I will be optimising the decks anytime soon. I'm not that much into designing and building decks, but I'm sure there's a lot of already made designs when I get bored with the basic ones. Solo play is excellent. It stays well within the time I want to dedicate to a single game. 60 minutes. Unlike my other favourite card game: Imperium Legends, which just takes too damn long to finish. I also love that there's so much content. Yes, it's expensive to get it all. But you don't have to buy everything, just buy the heroes and campaigns you know and like. In the end, for the amount of enjoyment you get it's overall cheap compared to most entertainment options. Setup and teardown time is also top notch. Unlike other card games. Very simple to set up. I love that too.
