The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game

Players cooperate as a fellowship of heroes and build decks of allies, events and attachments to tackle scenario-based adventures in Tolkien’s Middle-earth. Each round players assign heroes and allies to quest, engage enemies, defend, or attack, then manage limited resources and exhausted cards to balance making quest progress against dealing with mounting threats. The game supports preconstructed and custom decks and offers standalone scenarios or linked campaigns with persistent consequences; expansions add new scenarios, heroes and player cards to extend play and variety.

    This is maybe the best example I know of how to transform theme, sensations and story into elegant mechanics. The best point is that every expansion is a surprise in terms of narrative, mechanics and challenge.

Wat is Easy Mode precies en hoe stel ik het in?

Easy Mode is een alternatief, minder uitdagend opzet voor nieuwe spelers; tijdens het opzetten voeg je 1 hulpbron toe aan elke held en haal je kaarten met een moeilijkheidsmarkering uit de ontmoetingsstapel (zie de stappen voor Easy Mode). (pagina 1)

Wanneer tijdens het opzetten voeg ik de +1 grondstof toe aan elke held?

Voeg tijdens stap 2 van de opzet, “Plaats helden en stel de beginbedreigingsniveaus in”, 1 hulpbron toe aan de hulpbronvoorraad van elke held. (pagina 1)

Welke encounter-kaarten moet ik verwijderen voor Easy Mode — moet ik echt elke kaart met een gouden rand verwijderen?

Verwijder elke kaart met de “moeilijkheid”-indicator (een gouden rand rond het ontmoetingsset-icoon) uit het huidige scenario-ontmoetingsdeck; die kaarten worden voor de Easy Mode uit het deck verwijderd. (pagina 1)

Mijn exemplaar van een ouder scenario laat geen gouden moeilijkheidsiconen zien — hoe weet ik welke kaarten ik moet verwijderen?

Het regelboek geeft lijsten met welke specifieke kaarten je moet verwijderen uit oudere encounter-sets die het moeilijkheidsicoon missen; raadpleeg de verwijderingslijsten voor de encounter-sets van het scenario in het regelboek. (pagina’s 1–3)

Nadat ik middelen heb toegevoegd en moeilijkheidskaarten heb verwijderd, wat moet ik daarna doen?
