Guide a wagon train across the frontier, hiring townsfolk, buying wagons and equipment, and panning for gold while managing resources like wood, medicine, cattle and silver. Each round players draw and roll dice from a bag, then draft one to collect silver, recruit a townsfolk, or take actions tied to the die value; unpicked dice advance disaster tracks that trigger raids, famine, disease or storms if they reach the end. Townsfolk provide immediate or ongoing benefits and endgame scoring, and players can fulfill town favor conditions for extra rewards. Balance resource development with disaster preparedness to score the most points.

Basically you draft dice, then whichever color the last die is advances the matching disaster track. Each die face as three options, get money, use the ability or take a card from the matching slot. Then there are some engine building elements where you will get additional effects for drafting a specific die face. Generally the disasters make you pay X for each Y you have, so there's an interesting tension between wanting to grow big but then the bigger your grow the harder it is to sustain in the face of the events. Since the disasters only move 1 space up per round, so nothing should catch you fully by surprise. Another really cool element is that you customize your own victory conditions as the bottom of each of the personality cards has an endgame scoring criteria for focusing on a specific area of the game. Meanwhile, you have these end of round cash out for points cards that put pressure on you to keep your resources low in order to keep up with other players in score. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
