Richard Wagner's The Ring of the Nibelung

Based on Norse mythology and Wagner’s opera, this card game casts players as lords competing for Alberich’s cursed Ring. Characters such as Siegfried, Brunhilde, Fafner, and the gods enter play from Midgard or from hand and are placed in Great Halls that hold up to six characters. Heroes and villains can fight or fall in love, while each character’s Ring value determines who can claim the Ring. The Ring allows players to collect treasures, including victory points and artifacts with special powers, but its curse can destroy a character and force the loss of a treasure. The Ring can be surrendered to avoid these effects.
