The Island

Players control rival city-states on a contested island and field armies to expand their power. Each player starts with a home city and its initial forces, then recruits mercenaries, plays combat and magic cards, and launches assaults on other cities to capture them and absorb their troops. Cards introduce tactical options: mercenaries boost armies, magical effects modify battles or fortify defenses, and resolving conflicts determines which cities change hands. Victory goes to the player who controls the most cities at the end of play.
