Amun-Re

Players act as heads of royal Egyptian families who acquire provinces along the Nile, develop them for agriculture and trade, and use resources to construct pyramids for prestige. Gameplay revolves around bidding in a seasonal auction, managing province income, buying building stones, and allocating power cards to influence actions. Players also make periodic sacrifices to the god Amun-Re, which affect scoring and turn order. Strategic timing of purchases, province expansion, and resource allocation determines who builds the most pyramids and scores highest.

4-5 players. Classic Knizia but in a more complete/complex package than other simple auction games. One of his best, surely his best at 5 players and, at this weight, one of the best 5-player game of all time
