Players investigate the unexplained death of a merchant by revealing and discussing a stack of 32 clue cards. On a turn, a player plays one card from their hand face-up so everyone reads the information; some clues are essential while others are irrelevant and can cost points. Players may state theories aloud and discuss remembered or discarded information but may not show cards in hand, only read highlighted text aloud. When all clue cards are revealed or discarded, the group assembles a final theory and completes a questionnaire about the case, scoring points for each correct answer.
