Space Base

Players act as Commodores building a fleet and expanding a personal space base. Ships start docked and are deployed to sectors as players commission new vessels, with cargo ships trading, miners generating recurring income, and carriers extending influence. Gameplay centers on a shared dice-rolling mechanic where one player’s roll can trigger benefits for all, combined with engine-building via buying ship cards and arranging them on a player board. Card purchases and their order shape each player’s income engine, supporting different strategies from steady income to high-risk, high-reward combos. Rounds are quick to learn and play, mixing luck from dice with strategic tableau construction.

#10 In Kommandoposten-Box Machi Koro in space. Very entertaining dice rolling game with some nice ideas. I really like that the mechanism with turn around your card and that you gain something on the other players turn. Regelspørsmål

Besvart fra regelboka av Ludoyas regelassistent.

Do only the player who rolled the dice get rewards?

No. Everyone independently chooses whether to use each die separately or add them together, then gains rewards from their own matching sectors. (pp. 7, 12–15)

Can I use my blue rewards on someone else’s turn, or my red rewards on my turn?

No. Blue rewards are gained on your own turn as the active player; red rewards are gained on opponents’ turns when you’re passive. Green abilities may be used on any turn. (pp. 7, 9, 12)

If I put a charge cube on an ability, does that mean I’ve used it?

No. Placing a cube is a reward; using the ability requires removing the required cube or cubes from its card. You don’t need a particular dice result to activate an ability, but its color determines when you may use it. (pp. 8–9)

When I buy a ship, do I pay only its listed cost?

For a normal buy, you must spend all your credits, even if that is more than the card’s cost. Place the new ship in the sector printed on it; the ship already there becomes deployed. (pp. 7, 13)

What does my income do, and when do I get credits from it?

At the end of your turn, if your credits are below your income, raise your credits to match your income. Income doesn’t otherwise give credits during the turn. (p. 13)

Does the game end as soon as someone reaches 40 VP?

Reaching at least 40 VP triggers the end, but finish the current round so everyone has had the same number of turns. The player with the most VP wins; ties lead to extra full rounds until there’s a winner. (p. 16)
