Players try to be the first to get rid of all cards from their personal stack by playing cards into a central pile and following each card’s instructions. Sheep cards pass play to the player matching that sheep’s color; special cards trigger actions such as howling like a wolf, starting a duel with dogs, calling the shepherd to leave the table and summon the flock, or turning off the lights so colors are hidden. Mistakes force players to take the whole center pile. The game emphasizes fast reactions, acting out sounds and movements, and shifting turn order as the round progresses.
