Fliptown

Players explore a Wild West town by flipping poker cards and marking a personal map with dry-erase boards. Each turn, three cards are flipped and assigned to a suit (which region to activate), a value (which site in that region to circle), and a poker card (which contributes to a five-card hand resolved at round end). The town is divided into four regions — Trail, Badlands, Mine, and Town — each presenting a distinct puzzle and site-specific rewards like cash, gold, items, or bonus actions that enable combos. Games support solo scoring or competing against automated “cowbot” opponents, and multiplayer uses shared community cards and bounty objectives. Players may choose from multiple characters with unique starting resources and abilities.

Regelfrågor

Besvarat ur regelboken av Ludoyas regelassistent.

When I flip the three cards for my turn, do I have to pick which is my suit, value and poker card right then, and can I change them later?

Each turn you choose which of the three lineup cards will be your suit, value and poker card and record the poker card on your map; players announce choices simultaneously (or arrange freely in solo). Once you circle a site it cannot be visited again (Town sites are the exception), though you may ignore suit/value to instead take a Cemetery action while still keeping the poker card (Rulebook p.5).

How do poker hands resolve — what counts as a win and how do I get paid?

After five turns each player compares their five-card hand to the payout table on their map; any hand worse than a pair earns nothing while a pair or better wins according to the pay table, and Aces can be high or low (Rulebook p.6).

If two players have the same poker hand (e.g., both have Two Pair), does each player get the payout?

Yes — each player independently compares their hand to the pay table and collects the listed payout for that hand; the poker phase is not a direct player-vs-player comparison (Rulebook p.6).

If I bribe the Sheriff, do I remove Wanted or just avoid being arrested that round?

Paying 1 gold per circled Wanted guarantees you avoid arrest that round but does not remove or cross out any Wanted — bribing only avoids the Sheriff’s effect for that round (Rulebook p.8).

On the Trail, can I skip sites to reach better rewards, and what happens to skipped rewards?

You may skip as many Trail sites as your value card allows, but any skipped site's reward is crossed out and lost forever; to gain a site's reward you must stop and circle it, and some stops also add Wanted (Rulebook p.9).

If I attempt a Badlands robbery and fail, do I still circle the target and what do I receive?

You must circle the target whether you succeed or fail; on failure you still gain all the listed Wanted, half the stars and no cash, and then discard the robbery card (Rulebook p.10).
