Kinfire Council

Players act as members of a city council tasked with rebuilding the great city of Din'Lux and defending it from the threats of the Starless Nights. On each turn, players send workers to gather resources, upgrade buildings, and construct Kinfire lighthouses in the surrounding area. The game includes political actions: players propose and vote on city policies, arrest cultists, and resolve conflicts of authority. A persistent Cult of Altan advances as players maneuver for power; one player can win by enabling the cult, while others balance cooperation and rivalry as they dispatch a Seeker to confront looming threats.

You're a member of the city council in the fictional city of Din’Lux where you'll be building lighthouses while the Cult of Altan tries to hinder your efforts. On your turn you'll be sending out ??‍♂️ workers and utilizing influence to collect ? resources, fulfill needs, arrest cultists, upgrade your characters and locations, cast ?? votes, and maintain the lighthouses. Your Seeker is allowed to visit more locations, but upgrading each worker will make them each a valuable part of your team. If you wait too long to take out the cultists, they'll grow stronger, so you'll need to work collectively to keep them at bay. At the end of 5 rounds, the winner is the person with the most points, which may even be the Cult! This @incredibledreamstudio game was love at first play! The base game is of great quality (and that artwork!) but we did choose to go for the upgraded components. We don't use the lifted tiers on the board, but it is such a nice touch. This was our first and only experience in the Kinfire universe and likely the closest thing to co-op that we enjoy (besides games with the kids). If lore is your kind of thing, there's a whole book on it. There's so much to do you can't possibly do it all, which keeps us coming back for more.
