Wars of the Roses: Lancaster vs. York

Two Lancastrian and two Yorkist players draft cards representing towns, nobles, bishops and royal castles to build influence across England and Wales. Income from controlled locations funds armies, bribes and naval forces; players use bribery and appointments to shift loyalties and gain offices like admiral or archbishop. Actions are planned secretly and revealed simultaneously as players deploy forces and attempt to control six geographic regions, generate parliamentary support and install a royal heir. Victory depends on crowns, parliamentary votes and accumulated money and prestige rather than simple battlefield success.

Good fun in trying to outguess your opponents. You can go from hero to zero, as I have sadly found out, but the game really rewards forward planning. (or lack thereof). Mean and nasty, but fun!
