Players excavate sites, catalogue finds, and reconstruct cultural achievements while simultaneously making decisions in the past that alter which ruins and artifacts exist to be discovered. Manage specialists, publish research to gain academic recognition, and curate museum exhibits to score points. Actions in the past influence available breakthroughs and the strengths of cultural facets, so coordination across eras determines the most significant historical narrative.
