Leviathan Wilds

Players take on climbers who scale a colossal, frenzied leviathan to remove binding crystals and restore the creature. The board is a spiral-bound storybook that unfolds the leviathan’s body into a series of connected scenarios forming a campaign, with standalone scenarios playable in about 45 minutes. Each character uses a unique deck of multi-use ability cards to climb, jump, glide, and spend action points on a square grid overlaid on the leviathan’s body. Cards also represent a character’s grip; running out forces a fall until a rest space is reached. The leviathan has its own event deck that triggers attacks, movement effects, and escalating “rage.” Players win by reducing every binding crystal to zero while managing health, grip, and spreading blight.

Really good for solo games. Takes about 1 hour

If an attack's areas overlap and I'm in multiple highlighted spaces, do I take the attack more than once?

No — even if you occupy overlapping attack areas you suffer the effect only once (page 6).

When do I draw back up to three cards — before or after resolving the threat? What if my deck runs out while drawing?

You draw to three as step 4 of your turn, after resolving the threat; if your deck runs out while drawing you begin falling (page 7).

Can I choose not to draw the last card so I don't fall when my deck is low?

Yes — the rules allow you to decline drawing the last card so you have fewer than three cards and avoid starting to fall ("Hanging by a Thread") (page 7).

If I start falling, do I take damage for the fall itself or only from terrain I pass through?

You do not take any separate fall damage; you are affected only by the terrain you enter while falling (e.g., harmful or difficult spaces) (page 10).

What happens when a climber is defeated — do we instantly lose or get extra turns?

When a climber is defeated their activation ends and the remaining climbers must finish removing crystals: after finishing the current steps, each remaining climber takes one full additional turn in clockwise order (Last Chance); if crystals remain afterward you lose (page 9).

Do the protection icons on my AP card protect me from threat cards or only from terrain/map effects?

Protection icons on the AP card protect you from the matching terrain/map effects during your activation, but they do not protect you from other effects such as leviathan threat cards (pages 7 and 10).
