Petrichor

Players act as clouds that expand, spawn cloudlets and move water droplets over a patchwork of fields. On each turn they choose from a small set of actions to reposition clouds, transfer water and rain onto specific fields, and otherwise manipulate when harvests occur. Crops require particular amounts of water to score, so players balance controlling fields and timing harvests to maximize their yield. The game supports 1–4 players (and more with an expansion) and emphasizes area influence, resource placement and interaction between opponents as clouds compete to irrigate the most productive fields.

#50 Wow, what a beautiful game! Very nice mechanics, gorgeous artwork. The only negative point is the drawing cards, if you have bad luck you have to use more cards than others and therefore will not win. #NetworkBuilding Some very nice mechanics in it. This is an area majorities game where rather than place your influence directly into scoring areas, you place them on these staging platforms in the form of cloud markers, that are subject to manipulation before finally arriving at your intended destination. The core of the game is card driven. Each player gets a hand of very basic cards, each card featuring a single type of action. I recommend drafting them with the variant in the back of the rulebook to ensure players have some say as to their action spread each round. Worst case scenario, any two cards can be used as a single card of any action. Each plant tile on the central board has a different requirement for it to score consisting of a defined number of influence tokens, and sometimes that a certain event has resolved. This makes for a really dynamic board each game with a lot of replay-ability. Overall this is a solid, very thematic majorities game that plays very smoothly and has simple actions that chain into interesting sequences of consequences. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
