Splendor

Players act as Renaissance merchants who collect gem tokens, purchase development cards representing mines, transport, and shops, and seek prestige from wealthy patrons. On a turn a player takes one of three actions: take gem tokens (either three different colors or two of the same), buy a development card by paying gem costs, or reserve a card to hold it for later and gain a gold joker token. Purchased cards provide permanent gem discounts for future buys and some award prestige points. Play continues until a player reaches the target prestige total, at which point the highest-scoring merchant wins.

Regelspørgsmål

Besvaret ud fra regelbogen af Ludoyas regelassistent.

Can I take two tokens of the same color if there are only three left?

No. You can take two of the same color only if at least four tokens of that color are available when you take them (p. 3).

What happens if I end my turn with more than 10 tokens?

You must return tokens until you have 10 or fewer, and you may return any tokens you just took (p. 3).

Do I get a gold token whenever I reserve a card, and how many cards can I reserve?

Reserving a card is the only way to get a gold token; if none are available, you may still reserve but get no gold. You can have no more than three reserved cards, and can only get rid of one by buying it (p. 3).

Do my development-card bonuses replace tokens when I buy another card?

Yes. Each bonus counts as one token of its color toward a purchase, reducing how many tokens you need to spend; bonuses can cover the full cost (p. 4).

If I qualify for a noble, can I refuse it or take more than one?

No, a qualifying noble visit is automatic and is not an action. If you qualify for multiple nobles at the end of your turn, choose one (pp. 3–4).

Does the game end as soon as someone reaches 15 points?

Not immediately: finish the current round so everyone has had the same number of turns. The player with the most points wins; if tied, the player who bought fewer development cards wins (p. 4).
