Railways develop across 19th-century Britain as players buy and manage companies through alternating stock rounds and operating rounds. During stock rounds players trade shares and jockey for company control; during operating rounds company presidents move a Survey Party, lay track by placing tiles where the party previously stood, run trains and collect revenue for shareholders. The map covers southern (and optionally northern/Scottish) Britain, and the Survey Party mechanic makes route competition and tactical tile placement central to play. Games are long and focus on strategic investment and route rivalry rather than quick turns.
