They cultivate fields, harvest timber, and build structures while balancing crops, wine and sugar production to satisfy changing royal demands. Ships are constructed and deployed for trade and expeditions; naval actions enable access to foreign markets and discoveries. Victory depends on timing: fulfilling the Crown’s requests, shifting agricultural focus when instructed, and scoring prestige at specific game intervals. Resource shortages, hungry inhabitants and external threats force players to prioritize actions and compete for limited opportunities.
