Jetsetters

Spiel De Jahres-nominated game designer Stephen Glenn brings this card game about heading around the globe to the world's hottest cities. Finally in print, Jetsetters has been Hippodice-recognized as a quality card game. Deal cards from the deck to the center of the table equal to the number of players + 1. Each card has a city, a transportation mode, a point value, and a turn order number. Each player selects a card, and the remaining card goes in the Travel Agency. The turn order number determines what order people will pick cards in the next round. At the end of the game, players score points based on which cities they own that are in the Travel Agency, and for having the most of a particular transportation mode.

JetSetters isn't anything too innovative; I've seen hints of its design in King of the Beasts, For Sale, and other games, but it is a compact, inexpensive card game that offers some interesting developments. I'9m not sure it will be remembered in ten years, but for $5 I think it offers entertainment for today and is something that can be carried around in a shirt pocket. While not on the level of his Spiel nominated Balloon Cup, JetSetters is a Stephen Glenn game that will certainly raise a buzz for a short while in a game group. See my review for more details...
