Ringyō

A simultaneous worker placement game about sustainable forestry in feudal Japan. Over five rounds, players develop provinces by harvesting, planting, and studying trees, constructing farms and castles, and raising forces to support the Shogun. They must also anticipate changing weather, balancing rain’s benefits against the risk of flooding and environmental damage. Players send advisors to Edo to bid for favor and fulfill the Shogun’s demands while competing for honor. The daimyo with the most honor at the end of the game wins.
