The Architects of Amytis

Players act as rival architects competing to design the most beautiful city for the king and queen of Babylon. On each turn a player selects a tile from a central display, places one of their architect pawns on the corresponding pile, and adds the tile to their personal city grid, either on an empty space or covering an existing tile to build upwards. Tiles are colored and represent building types; placement triggers immediate scoring for that building type, while color patterns in the city score at game end by matching the king’s projects. Creating a straight line, row, or diagonal of three architect pawns on the main board grants a royal favor that yields additional endgame points.
