Shibumi

A minimalist game system based on a 4×4 board and square pyramidal stacks of white, black, and red balls. It includes rules for multiple games and supports the creation of additional variants. Balls can be placed only on 2×2 platforms formed by existing balls. Removing an unpinned ball causes any pieces it supports to drop, while balls supporting two or more pieces remain fixed. The system uses these stacking and dropping rules for games with different objectives and player counts.

This is a hard game to write about, because it's actually a game system. There's a huge pfd of different games to try with this simple stack of balls. It's really very interesting, as there are game where you remove or move pieces with the goal of being on top, or eliminating other player's pieces, or trying to make a row of your own, ect. The 3d element of the stack comes into things as balls can usually be removed from the side, allowing the ball above it to click into it's place. None of the games have been completely engrossing, but most of them have been interesting puzzles. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::nostar::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
