Humans mine a volatile alien compound on a barren planet and ignite an outbreak that sends Xenos swarming the facilities. Players cooperate as teams of survivors—civilians and soldiers with distinct skills—choosing a mission, completing objectives, and trying to stay alive while the game automates waves of Xeno attackers. Combat uses a range of weapons from improvised firearms to specialized energy arms; more powerful attacks attract larger swarms. Players trade gear, rescue teammates, recover data, and manage positioning between interior areas and the planet’s low-oxygen surface, where different equipment is required. Encounters emphasize teamwork and tactical movement as predictable but numerous Xenos employ new, more aggressive behaviors.
