After the Virus

Players cooperate to complete missions in a zombie apocalypse, following a 15-mission campaign or standalone scenarios. Each player builds and manages a personal deck that is gradually invaded by zombies when reshuffled, while searching a shared area deck for weapons, equipment and one-use items. Cards may be added to a player’s deck, placed in the play area for ongoing use, or consumed as single-use resources. Strategic deck and play-area management is required to complete objectives before zombie numbers overwhelm the team.

Domande sulle regole

Risposte tratte dal regolamento dall'assistente per le regole di Ludoya.

When exactly do I reshuffle the draw deck?

If you need to draw and the draw deck is empty, reshuffle the discard pile to form a new draw deck before drawing (see draw/reshuffle rules on page 4).

Can I play an Event card as my action, or is it free?

Playing an Event is one of the available actions during the Action Phase (it’s listed as an action option alongside playing non‑events and scouting), so it uses your action unless the card text says otherwise (page 4).

How do I prepare weapons and add ammo — does that cost an action or ammo every time?

Use the Prepare action to ready weapons and to add or spend ammo as specified; each weapon’s prepare cost and the rules for adding/using ammo are described in the Prepare/Use section and the ammo rules (pages 5 and 7).

What happens when zombies attack — when do survivors take wounds and where do zombie cards go?

Resolve the zombie attack step and any reactions, place wounds on the affected survivors when the attack succeeds, and remove killed zombie cards to the discard as described in the zombie attack and killed/discard rules (pages 5–6; wounds details on page 7).

How do I save Survivors or use the Safe House event — do I have to pick one option?

Follow the save Survivors procedure and the Safe House event choices as laid out: the Safe House event gives specific option(s) you choose when playing it, and the steps to save survivors are detailed on page 8.
