A mad elemental seeks to burn an enchanted forest by sending waves of fire-based attackers down four lanes. Players draft and build a deck, then defend by playing cards to the rows as static defenses like trees and fountains or as animals that produce instant effects and manipulate enemy decks. Cards are played from hand by paying with other cards, creating a hand-management and deck-building puzzle while resolving successive waves of attackers. The goal is to keep the forest’s heart unscorched through all waves; the game offers an introductory mode, an advanced mode, and additional challenge options via expansions and appendix content.

Taha Afyouni4.6 I really wanted to like this more than I did. This is probably the prettiest Oniverse game, but I have found it very difficult and have not been able to win it yet.
Emily C3.5 I only keep playing to see if I can beat it. Otherwise being mercilessly spanked every time I flip the fire deck is just too much after a tough day of work.
Mitchell C4.6 All the Oniverse games are worth playing at least once. This is not the best of the bunch, but not bad by any means.
