The best 1vs1 fighting game I've tried. A fantastic, simple system with incredible depth. THIS SPECIFIC BOX (WAR) - 16 characters, from simple to convoluted ones. Great entry point for the series. - No tuckboxes in its Remastered edition (the one available at the moment). - Probably enough content for a lifetime, but you may want to expand it if you're into a specific kind of characters (being an only-brawler player, for example). PROS - With a really simple ruleset, it creates incredible interactions between its characters. - Every character feels absolutely unique. Some of them may be similar, but they'll have a distinctive feature that differenciates them. - There is a character in a BattleCON box that feels like it was designed for you. Maybe more than one! - The game is really tense: it really feels like a fight. Predicting your opponent's moves correctly is incredibly satisfying. CONS - Some details may be difficult to grasp for new players (while the 4th edition will make the game and its graphic design much more straighforward). - It cannot be played at its best until each player knows their character and their opponent's character. You won't experience it correctly by playing it from time to time with random opponents.

Finnally I tried this one! I've liked it as much as I expected, but I prefered to start buying Exceed and then go to BattleCON because it's more complex. But it's a really clever game and a great one to play!

My wife was not a big fan and it wasn't getting enough play to justify keeping it around.
