Sherwood

Players reenact skirmishes between Robin Hood’s band and the Sheriff of Nottingham’s men in and around Sherwood Forest and a village inn. The game uses man-to-man tactical combat with missile weapons (bows, crossbows, javelins), melee, and ambushes from terrain such as trees. Counters represent individual characters in various states (healthy, stunned, wounded, dead) and play proceeds on full-color tactical maps with turns measured in short time increments. Two rule tiers support beginners and young players, with additional rules for more realistic play and optional full-series rules for experienced wargamers. Components include maps, a counter sheet, scenarios, a rule booklet, reference sheet, a d10, and a counter tray.
