Age of Rail: South Africa

Players invest in and operate railroad companies across South Africa, earning money by holding shares and collecting dividend payments from those companies. After an opening auction for initial shares, players take turns selecting one of four actions: build track, develop settlements, offer stock, or pay dividends. Actions are limited in availability—some can be blocked until a later turn—while building track can be repeated freely. Funds from share purchases go into company treasuries to finance track construction. Developing settlements increases station value, company income grows when links are made, and dividends distribute company income to shareholders. The game ends after the sixth dividend, which includes final link-based bonuses and a last payout based on shares issued.
