Stone Age: Anniversary
Players take the roles of prehistoric villagers who gather resources, develop tools, trade, expand their village, and feed their people to advance civilization. Each round players place up to ten tribe members on board locations such as the hunt, trading post, quarry, and fields, then resolve those actions in turn order to collect wood, clay, stone, gold, and food, craft or improve tools, and acquire buildings and population. A feeding phase forces players to manage food or pay penalties, creating tension between short-term needs and long-term growth. This edition adds a double-sided seasonal board, decorative components, a revised rulebook, and a pair of small scenario variants that alter placement and event interactions.

Mohasz7.9 Replaced my original copy (but replaced the meeples with the old ones). I wouldn't say it was totally worth it, but it's a game I really like and it's nice to have some of those extras, even if it's not much. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I think this is one of my favorite games in my collection right now (12/2022). It’s just the best possible combination of theme, artwork, weight and game flow for me. I just love how straightforward it is once you get familiar with the rules. Everything makes sense (e.g. 1 worker = 1 die). Dice rolling is fun. Upgrading and using your tools is fun. Climbing up on the food track is fun. Getting more people is fun. Managing the feeding of your people is fun. Collecting cards and occasionally getting random free stuff from them is fun. Finally being able to build that expensive hut for a lot of points is fun. Placing the workers is fun (even if sometimes frustrating). The artwork is very pleasing (I especially love the winter side). + Mammoth Herd + The New Huts
